During the past week Facebook has issued a release of their Product Advert solution.
As with Google Shopping and Amazon Product Ads, Facebook Product Ads allow business to promote products across all devices that their audience use to access Facebook. The audience is determined by targeting Facebook users that have accessed their website or a retail site that lists their products.
Facebook states that the ‘marketers can upload their product catalog and create campaigns targeting certain products to specific audiences, or let Facebook automatically deliver the most relevant products to people.’
‘Product ads can be customized for use throughout the customer journey, from discovery/awareness through purchase. Here are some options:
- Advertisers can automatically reach people who visited their website/app (via Custom Audiences), or reach people based on specific interests, locations, etc.
- Advertisers can curate ads as they see fit. For instance, they can highlight products that were viewed on their website/mobile app or showcase best-selling products, or they can create a multi-product ad that highlights the different benefits of a single product.’
We will be offering Facebook Ads to clients by the end of March as a new export channel. We will release a further blog update when this is available with Feed Manager.
As with any new channel clients are recommended to test for effectiveness and determine the benefits of using what could be a potentially interesting new opportunity.
