Google have announced that Plus Box functionality (now called Google Product Extensions) are available to all US advertisers from November 24th 2009.
Using the principles identified elsewhere in our news sections and on our website here, Product Extensions use a combination of an advertiser’s Adwords account and their Merchant Centre feed to provide searchers with arrays of products matching their search criteria.
Google’s research has indicated that among their early US adopters, Product Extension adverts enabled significantly higher CTR and conversions – our more limited UK Beta trials support this view (see yesterday’s post)
We are awaiting with interest to see just how quickly Google expand the current very limited UK Beta base for Product Extensions in the UK. Watch this space!
