We have been working with GS1’s guidance on approved GTIN prefixes and combinations to improve our ability to determine bad values which Google and other engines will disapprove.
This has extended our existing GTIN validation process, and we have now deployed this functionality within the Feed Manager platform from today (14th June).
We are now able to detect all numbers within reserved, restricted and coupon ranges, as well as those that are not functional GTINs.
As a result all GTIN numbers that are not within a defined and valid global licensing territory are now being diagnosed at the front end of our import process. Such GTIN numbers will be removed and reported to you in the usual way.
