Recent Updates to Google+

Google have sent out a communication informing users that they are updating their ‘Google terms of service’ on November 11th 2013.

Ultimately, the difference in the new service means that your name, comments, +1’s and photo can show up in advertisements or searches for the brand/ business. Therefore your information can be displayed on these ‘shared endorsements’.

Google however want to remind users that you are completely in control of what you share. You can still share things to a limited audience. If you do not want your name or photo to be displayed on ‘shared endorsements’ then follow the steps below.

•    Sign into your Google account

•    Go to the ‘Shared endorsement’ settings page

•    It will then show you examples of how your name/business name could be used on endorsements. If you would still like to disable them then you shall find the tick box below.

•    Click save

Note that by unchecking the box it means that Google are not able to share your information, including recommendations with friends on Google that you may benefit from, therefore we recommend that you allow your information to be shared in order to benefit from as much coverage as possible.
